Telemisr workers’ strike over

the firing of Karima Farag,

their representative in

the contributor union

Karima Farag – the workers representative in the contributor union – exposed on (date) that raw tin from the factory was exiting the premises without permission. Karima succeeded in preventing the exit of the cargo until its registration in the ledgers by calling upon the factory security guards into action. Because of her actions, Karima was referred for investigation by That was not the end of the matter as the general proxy, accusing her of false charges. In her meeting with the legal affairs department, Karima was threatened and asked to cancel the general assembly meeting , to which she invited the workers to discuss what is going on in the company and to submit an early retirement request. As soon as the examinations were finished, she fell down and was taken to the Greek hospital (a hospital called so).The day after her hospitalization, general proxy issued a decision to suspend her from work, the decision led to a worker’s strike in the factory, in which the locked the general proxy in his office, until he issued a cancellation of the decision.

During the strike Manal, a factory worker, fainted and was carried to the Om El Masreen hospital in (area/city). It is said that she is now in the intensive care in a coma, which raised the events inside the factory.

The signatory organizations consider the general proxy of the company responsible for all what happened, and are demanding his removal and punishment . The following organizations announce their solidarity with the Telemisr factory workers.
